| Welcome to the Dunellen Theater & Cinema Café Web page A Brief History About The Dunellen Theater |
| In May of 1920 the Dunellen Theater broke ground. It has under gone many changes since then. Richard Zupko and his wife Pam purchased the theater in 1989 from Gild Luca who's family had it for many years. Richie grew up in this town and wanted a place where families could go on the weekend for great food and entertainment. His idea was to remove every other row of seating and replace them with coffee tables. After redoing the theater's bathrooms, lobby and concession stand and restoring what he could to maintain the "old theater" look and feel, he reopened again in 1999. At first it was used for a variety of different things such as comedy shows, concerts, and plays but movies did the best. That's when Richie’s vision of the Cinema Cafe took off into something very special and unique. To keep the Cinema Café a family atmosphere, we now show mostly family oriented and children's movies. Families can come enjoy dinner and a movie simultaneously at a very reasonable cost. Our ticket prices are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children and seniors. You can either order anything off our Tavern menu which includes a variation of sandwiches, salads, appetizer, children menu and more. Take advantage of our Pizza Special which is 1 large cheese pizza and a pitcher of soda or beer for $15.75. Upon arriving you purchase your General Admission tickets at the Box Office, then proceed to the concession counter to place all food order or get a snack or drink. If food was ordered you will be given a number to be placed on your table. This number helps the theater employees to deliver your food as it is ready. All of our food is freshly made to order. So sit back relax and enjoy!! We also offer Birthday Party Packages at reasonable prices. |
